Tired of slicing images to create before and after hover buttons? Spending too much time trying to get everything to align just right only to find out that you have to recreate one of the images because of a spelling error? Well, fret no more. Dave Shea's recent article at A List Apart explains in detail how to achieve that same effect for a series of buttons / icons / etc. using a single image and minimal CSS. Take a look at the final example, then at the single image used to create the effect. I'm tempted to create a website just to use this code, or maybe I'll update my homepage again, this is really cool.
